Weekend Asheville Guide

Image
Long time no talk, I know :( But I had to come on here and talk about my recent trip to Asheville, North Carolina! We did a lot in a short amount of time, so I thought I'd share what we did. Friday We arrived at our hotel around 8pm Friday night. We stayed at the Grove Park Inn . It's a beautiful resort with a golf course, spa, stores, and restaurants. You can see the Blue Ridge mountains and it's just gorgeous! We settled into our hotel room and immediately went to get dinner because we were starving. We ate at Edison, Craft Ales & Kitchen . It's a casual restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The food was really good! The salad was so good that I had to try recreating it when I got home, lol.   Since it was late, we decided to just explore and walk around inside the hotel since it is so big and then went to sleep. Saturday We started the morning getting some coffee and hot chocolate from the coffee/gift shop in the hotel

What I learned in 2021

Image
My favorite post of the year! 2021 has been just a learning year for me. Still figuring myself and my life out. In year 2 of a pandemic (yes everything is reopened in the US, but the virus still exists). But as per usual, here is the list of things I've learned in 2021. Enjoy! If angel food cake is on sale, don't buy it. It's probably gross. Coffee is from the devil. Don't drink it. If you plan on taking melatonin before bedtime, take it 2-3 hours before going to sleep. Your body will thank you the next day. I will tell people that I will not do something, convince myself I won't do it, and still do the complete opposite. Don't buy a $10 curling iron. It will be garbage. So much can change in a month. Just because you got away with parking in one lot without getting a parking ticket, it doesn't mean you can park there again and NOT get a ticket the following time. Always carry around a coozie. and chapstick. and deodorant. You never know when you'll need

What is actually God's plan?

Image
I have been meaning to talk about this topic on here all year and clearly I haven't done that based on the last time I posted, lol. So I have been told pretty much my entire life that "everything that happens is according to God's plan" or "we have to follow God's plan" or something along those lines. Which is great, I guess. I mean I know God has a plan for everyone. But there is this other side that I've also been thinking about. How much work does someone have to do in order for God's plan to come to action? Like how do you know what is God's plan? Because I've heard different things, and I've seen different things.  I'm going to give a couple of examples just so you guys can have a better understanding of what I'm talking about because I know I can't explain it properly, lol. NOTE: Assume in each example that the people involved are religious and believe in "God's plan" and have been praying about their s

Some of my favorite things

My favorites posts aren't as common as they used to be, but I still like... things?? What I've learned over the last year is that I need some time to figure out if I truly like something. I used to make favorites posts every couple of months and I realized some of the items that I included in previous favorites post weren't really things I loved or I just liked in the moment. So I think doing these posts less often (more like once a year lol), has given me a chance to actually tell you guys what I truly liked and what I recommend. Or maybe it's just an excuse and I'm really just lazy, lol. But ANYWAYS....... here are some random things I've been loving in the last year!! Converse || Chuck Taylor All Star White High Tops I've always wanted a pair of classic white converse, so I finally decided to buy a pair! I think they are a good "basic" investment purchase because they go with a ton of outfits and will get a lot of wear. Aside from the fact that

What I Learned in 2020

And sarah's back after a long break!!! Jk, it wasn't really a break, I have just been really really bad about posting and I'm sorry!! While I know I've been slacking, I knew I couldn't just skip posting my favorite post of the year... sharing what I learned in 2020! This year I ended up reflecting on my previous posts and I'm kinda filled with nostalgia, but also I'm like, what the hell is my life??? lol. Last year I talked about how 2019 was one of the worst years of my life and I truly thought 2020 was gonna be my year and..... let me just say this and I will state this again on this list: the most important thing that I learned this year is to never enter a new year with unrealistically high expectations and goals because you will be severely disappointed. Aka how I've been feeling since March, haha. But here we go! If you've been invited to something in an unfamiliar place, look up the address on Google and check the distance BEFORE you commit.

This is 25.

So I celebrated my 25th birthday this past weekend! And WOW I feel old. One of my best friends and I were joking around about how certain things we were doing were such "this is 25" things. We kinda started listing things as the day went on and I was like, "why am I not putting this in a new blog post?" So here I am, listing 25 things that have happened in my 25th year that have just made me feel... twenty five. 1. Purchasing a special car pillow to help with your back. 2. Waking up early on a Saturday morning to go to a work out class instead of sleeping in. 3. Actually keeping plants alive. Real plants. 4. Having to get your car fixed 3 times in a month by yourself. Without your dad. 5. Cooking real meals that aren't just eggs or frozen hot dogs. 6. Finding house-cleaning therapeutic and getting excited to clean. 7. Taking a trip to visit a new fancy grocery store and being super excited. 8. When you can't stop thinking about your ne
