A Weekend in Dahlonega, Georgia

Image
I'm delayed to posting as always, but I had my bachelorette trip back in April and thought would be informative to you guys to share what we did! Also to reminisce on the memories. It was a fun weekend and it was one of the only things in the wedding/bridal world that I wanted to have and I'm so glad I did! Why did you choose Dahlonega instead of a popular bachelorette city like Nashville or Las Vegas? Originally, I had dreamed of going to Las Vegas or Miami for a bachelorette trip. But with our destination wedding and all the travel I had planned this year, I decided to keep the bachelorette celebration more low-key to avoid adding extra stress. I also didn’t want to ask my friends to spend even more money flying to an expensive city, especially with Italy already on the calendar. Dahlonega, less than 2 hours north of Atlanta, was the best choice since most of my friends could drive there, with only two girls having to fly in. And it's the mountains and ya girl loves the m...

Thoughts on the Wedding Industry (and planning a wedding)

Image
As you might have read in a previous blog post, I'm getting married! I've been getting questions about our plans, so I thought it might be interesting to share my thoughts on the wedding industry as a whole and what we are doing in regards to planning our own wedding. When I was younger and basically until after I graduated from college, I wanted a big fat Indian wedding. Or at least the Malayalee Christian version of what that would be, lol. I think with the rise of TikTok, the COVID-19 pandemic, the influx of weddings, I realized how naturally anxious of person I am and how anxious and stressed weddings made me, especially when it came to the money and planning side of things. And the pandemic did not help with the anxiety at all. I've been a bridesmaid 4 times (2 times pre-covid, 2 times post-covid), I've attended 6 bachelorette ...

What I Learned in 2023 (and 2022)

Image
Happy 2024!! If you're new here, I usually compile a list of things I've learned throughout the year and share it at the end of the year (or beginning of the year like this post lol oops). I've been making these posts for the past 7 years and it's always a fun post for me to make! Everything I've learned is all kind of random and I legit just jot down things that happen in my notes app. I did have a list of things I learned in 2022, but it was short and I never actually made the post, so it's getting mixed in with 2023. Hope you guys enjoy and I'll link previous years below as well to see the *growth* hehe Cheating once is a mistake. Cheating multiple times is a choice. Check the expiration date of food while you’re in the store before buying it. The people you travel will make the difference!!! Location is important, but if you're not with the right group of people, it can make or break the trip. Atlanta truly has the worst drivers in the country.   Atl...
