Let's hear it for New York

today, my parents and I went to New York City aka my favorite city ever!!! It was so much fun, except for the fact it decided to rain. apparently a 30% chance of rain up north probably means it is going to pour, which it did for a good 2-3 hours which kind of ruined the trip at one point. we went to Madame Tussauds, walked A LOT, went to the Rockefeller Plaza, WALKED all the way to Central Park and the Upper East Side from Times Square (which is a very long walk), then finally rode a cab back to Penn Station. We actually planned on taking a cab from Times Square to the Upper East Side, but it did not happen. It was fun, but we were exhausted and the heat and humidity didn't help at all. It doesn't sound like we did a lot, but all that took up the day, plus lunch.

the funny thing is that I am awful at finding places, map reading, etc. I have no sense of orientation whatsoever and I cannot give directions to anyone to save my life. But in NYC, I had a surprisingly good idea of where we were and how we got to where we were! Maybe it's a sign that I belong here...?

here are some pictures from today!
