A Dummy's Review of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (**SPOILERS**)

from schmoesknow.com
Thanks to my little brothers, I got into Star Wars a few years ago so I went to see Episode VII and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I'm no movie critic in any form or fashion and I'm one to miss all the technical details in movies but I thought I'd share what I liked and disliked in the movie! But there are SPOILERS, so if you haven't watched the movie and don't want to know what happened, don't read this. Please.

LIKES
The original cast. I liked how the original cast from Episodes IV-VI were in the movie! It definitely would not have been the same without Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill. [Even though Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) only made a quick appearance at the end.] But I loved every one of their characters in the original trilogy and it was great to see them in this movie!

A main cast with not so wellknown actors. I honestly hadn't heard of any of the actors until the movie came about except for Adam Driver who is on the show, Girls. I personally really liked the fact that actors and actresses such as Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone or Chris Hemsworth weren't cast in the film. They were all lesser known actors, so I didn't have set expectations for any of them and their style of acting.

Kylo Ren. He was a likable villain like Darth Vader or even Loki in Thor. I am excited to see him in the future films!

R2-D2 and C-3PO. I started wondering for a second that they weren't going to appear and then they did and I was happy!!
A female lead. Rey was phenomenal. Usually it is always a male main character who play the hero, but it was her who felt the force within her first. And a lightsaber fight between her and Kylo Ren?! It was awesome.

DISLIKES
Goodbye Han Solo. I was so heartbroken when they killed him off! And it was a pathetic way to die in my opinion. I know we all want to think the best of our children even if they've gone dark, but come on, Han. I wish he stuck around for at least another movie. His smartass attitude and sarcasm will definitely be missed.
- Adam Driver. This isn't really a dislike and I do love his character Kylo Ren as the villain as stated above! But as I said earlier, he is on a show called Girls, so at some points in the movie all I could see was Adam Sackler (his character's name). If you've watched Girls, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. And that show's genre is the complete opposite of Star Wars. My advice to you is don't watch Girls, haha.
Adam Driver on Girls. (from timeinc.net)

Overall I give this movie a solid 9.5/10. JJ Abrams, you did good. If you haven't watched it yet or any of the Star Wars movies before, I highly suggest watching them, especially if you like Action/Adventure movies!

sarah
